THE GOVERNMENT OF SONSHIP: Prophets Must Be Sons, First

The Lord is drawing a dividing line within the prophetic, calling prophets—and the overall state of much of today’s prophetic culture—out of orphanhood and into mature sonship.

The Greek word used for sons is huios—mature sons, those formed in identity, likeness, and inheritance.

Sonship is the divine order that governs the prophet internally and shapes the way they govern externally—in legislation, stewardship, and the release of revelation….

In John 5:19, Jesus says, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing from Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in the same manner.”

Jesus functioned as a Son from relationship with the Father. He did not function independently. He functioned from union.

When the Father publicly affirmed Him in Matthew 3:17, He said, “This is My Son in whom I am well pleased.”

Notice that sonship came FIRST before Jesus ever did a thing.

Sonship. Out of union.

And through Jesus, we have that same union with the Father…

This is the government of sonship. And Jesus is our model.

Pure Prophets are not orphans. Pure Prophets are SONS.

“And you did not receive the “spirit of religious duty,” leading you back into the fear of never being good enough. But you have received the “Spirit of full acceptance,” enfolding you into the family of God. And you will never feel orphaned, for as he rises up within us, our spirits join him in saying the words of tender affection, “Beloved Father!” For the Holy Spirit makes God’s fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, “You are God’s beloved child!” - ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭TPT‬‬
